R&B songstress and former Rick James protegé Teena Marie passed away this weekend at her Pasadena home. She was 54 years old. Although the official cause of death has not been released her publicist, Lynn Jeter, confirmed the singer suffered a grand mal seizure about a month ago. Local authorities do not expect foul play.
Teen Marie came to prominence with her sultry vocals in the late 70s and 80s with hits like “I’m a Sucker for Your Love”, “Square Biz” “Lovergirl” and the memorable duet with her mentor Rick James “Fire and Desire”.
Teena you will be missed!
