Doonby Star Pays Tribute to a Legend

Posted by Levine Communications Office on December 15, 2010

Crooner and Doonby (doonbythemovie.com) star Robert Davi proved his vocal chops (who knew) when he covered Frank Sinatra during the encore of his performance in the Phil Ramone-produced musical “Lanza”.  Now Davi takes it to the next level with an all out tribute to “Ol’ Blue Eyes” on January 15 in his show ” Davi Sings Sinatra: A tribute to Frank Sinatra, the Great American Songbook, and America” at the Thousand Oaks Performance Arts Center in Los Angeles, CA.

From davisingssinantra.com

“Davi will bring to life his love letter to Sinatra and The Great American Songbook – composed by many of America’s greatest songwriters and lyricists.   Sinatra, he believes, is the greatest singing genius that America has ever produced and the songs he sang represent nothing less than the “Shakespeare of America.” The Great American Songbook – composed in the early to mid 20th century – crossed and continues to cross all cultural boundaries. And why? They touch the heart and move the soul; they can bring you to tears; and they can make you swing.  The American Songbook, in fact, is one of the reasons why the world fell in love with America and Sinatra is its definitive interpreter.”

Davi will continue to get his “croon” on when he releases his upcoming album “Davi Sings Sinatra: On the Road to Romance” set to release in Spring 2011.

For details on his upcoming performance, visit davisingssinantra.com.  And be on the look out for Robert Davi in Doonby (doonbythemovie.com ) set for release in Spring 2011.

One Hot Pleasure

ERIKA JAYNE Launches Pretty Mess Records and

“One Hot Pleasure” Single Set For Label-Debut Release November 16

(LOS ANGELES) November 2, 2010 – Vocal temptress, seductive songstress and #1 Billboard chart queen ERIKA JAYNE is aiming to heat up this winter season with the launch of her own label, Pretty Mess Records. Currently working on new music for her second album (title TBA), the glamorous JAYNE will give a taste of what’s to come Tuesday, November 16 with the release of her new single “One Hot Pleasure.”

Written by Dave Audé, Luciana Caporaso (of the radio hit “I Like That” by Richard Vission & The Static Revenger starring Luciana) and Nick Clow, “One Hot Pleasure” sizzles just as the title of the song indicates. As the debut offering from her Pretty Mess Records, the song will be packaged with a striking video by JAYNE’s creative director and MTV video-music nominee Mikey Minden and visual collaborator, famed photographer Mike Ruiz, with remixes by Dave Audé, Ralphi Rosario, Dirty Loud, Sultan & Ned and Los Angeles newcomer Mr. White.

In Touch Weekly captured a moment with ERIKA on the set of the video that can be viewed here, or catch a glimpse of the making of her video at www.ErikaJayne.com.

“Launching my own label allows me to make music that I enjoy and deliver my product,” states ERIKA. “Having full control over the music, the message and concept enables me to make the records I want to make and perform the songs I want to perform. There’s great freedom in that, and it makes for a lot of fun. I can’t wait for my fans to check out ‘One Hot Pleasure,’ it’s a fun sexy danceable track.”

Distinguished by industry powerhouse Billboard magazine for an “uncommon feat” (issue date 6/26/10), the Atlanta-born, Los Angeles transplant sent her first four consecutive singles–“Rollercoaster,” “Stars,” “Give You Everything” and “Pretty Mess”– to #1 on the Hot Dance Club Songs chart. These chart-busting hits were featured on her 2009 debut album Pretty Mess.

According to Billboard, only 13 acts have taken at least their first four hits to #1 since the chart launched in 1976 as a national weekly survey of the most-played tunes as reported by club DJs. ERIKA joins the ranks of dance giants, including Rihanna and The Pussycat Dolls, who have accomplished similar feats.

(VANCOUVER, BC) October 12, 2010 – Release Me, the first single from the new self-titled album by Western Canadian rockers Eldebrock (www.Eldebrock.net) is not only skyrocketing with buzz, but now it’s rocking the skies too.   Their new hit song will now be featured nationally and internationally on the Canadian Pop music-only channel on Thomas Cook Airlines in November, December and January.

“In addition to hit makers like Katy Perry, Usher, Sara Bareilles, Good Charlotte, Rihanna and Kings of Leon, we’re always looking for new, breakout artists to feature on our channels,” says Kevin Bolt, Senior Audio Producer with In-Flight Productions, the world’s largest producer of in-flight entertainment.  “Eldebrock has a strong, unmistakable sound and we’re excited to introduce the band to our passengers who want to discover new music first.”

Between 1,000,000 and 1,800,000 passengers are predicted to fly nationally and internationally on Thomas Cook airlines during the upcoming three-month period.

While Release Me flies the friendly skies, the self-titled Eldebrock album remains grounded and is continuing to build momentum throughout Canada and The United States.

The album was mixed by industry heavyweight Michael Wagener and produced by Ryan Andersen.

Wagener, whose works have sold more than 93 million albums worldwide, has worked on some of rock’s most respected albums including Metallica’s Master of Puppets, Skid Row’s self-titled debut and Ozzy Osbourne’s No More Tears.  Credits for Andersen include Nickelback’s The Long Road and All the Right Reasons.

Earlier this year, the band decided to give back in a big way and reached out globally by partnering with the UICC – Union for International Cancer Control (www.uicc.org), the leading, non-governmental organization in Geneva that is dedicated to the global prevention and control of cancer.  The band created the campaign, World War on Cancer, and has committed $1 per album (.10 cents per song sold) to support the fight against cancer.

Eldebrock is Jay Wegenast (Lead vocals/guitar), Barrett Moore (Lead guitar/vocals), Del Bannerman (Rhythm guitar), Richard Lalonde (Bass) and Shawn Bannerman (Drums).

Eldebrock also won the 2010 IMA Best in Class Award for website design in the ‘Music’ category and recently signed an endorsement deal with Steve Clayton Guitar Picks.

BOOYAH’S SMASH HIT SOCIAL APP ‘NIGHTCLUB CITY’ AND ICONIC ROCK BAND KISS JOIN FORCES TO BRING FANS A FIRST-OF-ITS-KIND LIVE CONCERT

(SAN FRANCISCO, CA) Sept. 22, 2010 – In a music event that will mark the first time a band of historic magnitude has streamed a free concert to millions through a social game, KISS (www.KISSonline.com) will broadcast their final North American date of their hugely-successful 2010 Hottest Show on Earth concert tour live in Booyah’s Nightclub City (http://apps.facebook.com/nightclubcity), a wildly-popular, music-centric social game and marketing platform for musicians on Facebook.  The live concert will bring new and traditional media together by simultaneously airing on sites KROQ.com in Los Angeles and CBS Radio rock station websites nationwide via Ustream on Saturday, September 25, where KISS is headlining the Epicenter Twenty Ten Festival in Fontana, California.

Fans of KISS will be able to watch the iconic band play for FREE by simply logging on to the Nightclub City application in Facebook or by going to the KISS Ustream site. Those who view the concert in Nightclub City will be given exclusive KISS branded virtual goods to use in the game. In addition, Nightclub City players will have access to a dedicated KISS playlist in the game, featuring the top KISS songs of all-time.

Nightclub City is a digital game based around real-world music, and the landmark KISS event represents Booyah’s platform as a real-world gaming leader blending interactive entertainment with social apps while blurring the lines between the real and digital worlds.

“We’re celebrating the end of a monster tour by giving everyone a chance to relive some of what they heard and saw at the show. Unfortunately, we will not be responsible for computers melting,” said KISS co-founder Paul Stanley.

“We have always believed in pushing the boundaries…in giving the fans bang for the buck…in going where no band has gone before,” added KISS co-founder Gene Simmons.  “This one’s gonna rock big time!”

The dynamic world of Nightclub City is powered by Booyah’s vision of fusing elements from the real and digital worlds to create new forms of interactive entertainment.  Since opening its club doors in April 2010, more than 8.6 million active players have joined the party per month, and experienced new music within the social game setting and created special experiences that go beyond the realm of the digital world.

Those who watch the KISS concert through Nightclub City will be rewarded with special KISS- branded virtual goods. The broadcast starts with a pre-show at 8:30 PM on Saturday, September 25 at http://apps.facebook.com/nightclubcity.

The East Coast Gets a Taste of Jimmy Au’s

Posted by Levine Communications Office on September 17, 2010

LCO Client, Jimmy Au’s For Men 5’8” And Under seems to have impressed the city of New York. The New Yorker recently did an exciting piece on Jimmy Au’s first trunk show on the east coast, perfectly portraying what the designer clothing is all about.

Short men in the United States are, some studies show, paid less than their taller peers. They are less likely to get hired for a job or receive a promotion, less likely to get elected President, and at a severe disadvantage in the height-obsessed world of dating. But perhaps the worst indignity is being forced to shop for clothes in the children’s department. The alternative is not much better—the standard adult dress shirt has so much excess fabric that, when a short man wears it tucked in, it creates the impression that he is wearing a diaper under his trousers.

While there are hundreds of stores in the United States specializing in clothes for “big and tall” men, there are very few designer-clothing stores for short men. One is the Beverly Hills clothier Jimmy Au’s, whose motto is “For Men 5′8″ and Under.” The proprietors of Jimmy Au’s were in town recently for their first East Coast trunk show, and they approached this magazine to request a “deskside” chat. Unlike the phoneside, e-mailside, or even fireside chat, a deskside is a face-to-face briefing during which a publicist (or his or her client) pitches a story to a journalist in an intimate setting.

Eldebrock Releases Highly-Anticipated New Album

Posted by Levine Communications Office on September 16, 2010

(VANCOUVER, BC) September 14, 2010 – Western Canadian rockers Eldebrock (www.Eldebrock.net) have released Eldebrock, their new, self-titled album that features the single Release Me. The album is mixed by industry heavyweight Michael Wagener and produced by Ryan Andersen.

Wagener, whose works have sold more than 92 million albums worldwide, has worked on some of rock’s most respected albums including Metallica’s Master of Puppets, Skid Row’s self-titled debut and Ozzy Osbourne’s No More Tears.  Credits for Andersen include Nickelback’s The Long Road and All the Right Reasons.

Eldebrock is clearing a path alongside other current top Canadian rock bands Nickelback, Three Days Grace and Theory of a Deadman.

“This album is very much looking forward in time, creating its own niche, very solid musicianship, great songs, great performance and great sound,” Wagener says.

“Eldebrock’s sound is a combination of layered guitars and vocal harmonies in the style of Alice in Chains, driving rhythm a’ la Godsmack and lead guitar influenced by Slash and Zakk Wylde,” says rhythm guitarist and founding member Del Bannerman.

For Del, it took some devastating events to trigger a complete life change.  His beloved mother was killed in a car crash, his only sibling went missing and was added to the Canada-wide Missing Persons List, and shortly after a great night jamming with actor Brad Renfro, the actor unexpectedly passed.  That’s when Del decided life was too short to spend doing something he didn’t love doing and he started pursuing his passion for music.

“Major events can shape your life and I knew I wasn’t leading the life I wanted,” Del explains.  “Yeah, I’ve been through some crazy times, who hasn’t, and actually my time here has been pretty damn good, but it was enough for me to re-evaluate what I was doing with my life.  It’s all about choices.  I decided I was going to start a rock band, put out a solid album with some great musicians and try to make a positive impact.”

Earlier this year, the band decided to give back in a big way and reach out globally by partnering with the UICC – International Union Against Cancer (www.uicc.org), the leading, non-governmental organization in Geneva that is dedicated to the global prevention and control of cancer.  The band created the campaign, World War on Cancer, and has committed $1 per album (.10 cents per song sold) to support the fight against cancer.

Eldebrock also just signed an endorsement deal with Steve Clayton Guitar Picks.

Eldebrock is Jay Wegenast (Lead vocals/guitar), Barrett Moore (Lead guitar/vocals), Del Bannerman (Rhythm guitar), Richard Lalonde (Bass) and Shawn Bannerman (Drums).

Visit Eldebrock’s award-winning website at www.eldebrock.net and sign up to the Eldebrock Chronicle newsletter get the latest news from the band.  Eldebrock, the album, is available at www.eldebrockshop.com or on iTunes.  The physical copy of the album also includes a 24-page booklet with images from their award-winning website.

A Match Made in Music Heaven

Posted by Levine Communications Office on September 2, 2010

LCO Client and legendary rock band, KISS, was pictured backstage with Lady Gaga in the September 16, 2010 issue of Rolling Stone. The KISS Hottest Show on Earth Tour continues to make its way through the United States, with only 12 more shows to go.

With equally outrageous styles, it looks like Gaga fits right in! Stanley said to Gaga, “I was made for groping you!”

Lady Gaga got cozy with Kiss backstage before a New Jersey Show. “I felt an immediate kinship,” says guitarist Paul Stanley, who lent the pop star a pair of his boots. “We were the two with the least clothes on, though I don’t have to wear nipple tape. I view her as the queen bee in a nest of musical wanna-be’s.”

What do you think of this new companionship between KISS and Gaga??
