Posted by Levine Communications Office on January 25, 2011

LCO Client and New York Times Bestselling Author Father Alberto Cutie will be joining the likes of Dr. Phil,  Ellen and other daytime heavyweights on the talk show circuit.  He’s just landed his own nationally syndicated show that will focus on a variety of life issues.  The show will debut in test markets this summer.

Cutie told The Hollywood Reporter, “It’ll be everything from sex to salvation. Hopefully it’ll invite ‘greater dialog’ with the audience”, he added.

Father Cutie is a former Roman Catholic priest who left the faith after his conflicts with the religion and falling in love with Ruhama Canellis, whom he married in 2009.  In 2008 he left the Catholic faith and is now Episcopalian priest.

Celebrating Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

Posted by Levine Communications Office on January 17, 2011

Few people change the landscape of our history and today we celebrate one of those rare individuals.  Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. forever changed the way we relate to one another.  King was born on January 15th but it is today that we celebrate his work, his words and his life.

“Never, never be afraid to do what’s right, especially if the well-being of a person or animal is at stake. Society’s punishments are small compared to the wounds we inflict on our soul when we look the other way.”

— Martin Luther King Jr.

Dave Vescio is Taking the Media by Storm

Posted by Levine Communications Office on December 21, 2010

Leading man and LCO Client Dave Vescio is taking the media by storm appearing in several publications this month (and the month isn’t even over yet??)

Dave sat down with Exclusive Magazine, TOMI Magazine, and Geekadelphia to discuss his upcoming role in the Sci-fi thriller “Gemini Rising” (2011).  He also discussed the career risk he took in moving from journalism to acting.  His transition was emotionally motivated.

When recalling his military upbringing (his father was a fighter pilot in the air force) the actor who is also a veteran told TOMI Magazine, “ I joined the Army when I was 18.  I realized Wow I’m not really feeling the emotions of life that these characters in these stories are feeling in front of me.”

And he wasn’t content in hiding those emotions any longer.  Journalism called for him to impartial, stoic even.  He continued by saying, “I just wanted to truly feel life.  All the careers I had up until that point, I just can’t, you know?  In the military you can’t.  In photography you can’t.”

But now with over a dozen Sci-fi roles and nearly 50 appearances under his belt, its pretty safe to say that Dave has finally found his stride.  He can outwardly embrace his emotions and put them into the stories that he tells and the characters he portrays.

Check out these great in-depth articles about this extraordinary talent.  Dave Vescio is definitely one to watch in 2011.

Doonby Star Pays Tribute to a Legend

Posted by Levine Communications Office on December 15, 2010

Crooner and Doonby (doonbythemovie.com) star Robert Davi proved his vocal chops (who knew) when he covered Frank Sinatra during the encore of his performance in the Phil Ramone-produced musical “Lanza”.  Now Davi takes it to the next level with an all out tribute to “Ol’ Blue Eyes” on January 15 in his show ” Davi Sings Sinatra: A tribute to Frank Sinatra, the Great American Songbook, and America” at the Thousand Oaks Performance Arts Center in Los Angeles, CA.

From davisingssinantra.com

“Davi will bring to life his love letter to Sinatra and The Great American Songbook – composed by many of America’s greatest songwriters and lyricists.   Sinatra, he believes, is the greatest singing genius that America has ever produced and the songs he sang represent nothing less than the “Shakespeare of America.” The Great American Songbook – composed in the early to mid 20th century – crossed and continues to cross all cultural boundaries. And why? They touch the heart and move the soul; they can bring you to tears; and they can make you swing.  The American Songbook, in fact, is one of the reasons why the world fell in love with America and Sinatra is its definitive interpreter.”

Davi will continue to get his “croon” on when he releases his upcoming album “Davi Sings Sinatra: On the Road to Romance” set to release in Spring 2011.

For details on his upcoming performance, visit davisingssinantra.com.  And be on the look out for Robert Davi in Doonby (doonbythemovie.com ) set for release in Spring 2011.

Elizabeth Edwards Has Passed Away

Posted by Levine Communications Office on December 7, 2010

We were saddened to hear after a long and public battle with cancer, Elizabeth Edwards, 61, has passed away. Elizabeth, estranged wife of 2008 Presidential hopeful John Edwards, only yesterday posted a heartfelt message on her Facebook page.  Her message, although mindful of what she knew was to come, was inspirational and a true testament to her resilient character. Yesterday she wrote:

“The days of our lives, for all of us, are numbered. We know that. And yes, there are certainly times when we aren’t able to muster as much strength and patience as we would like. It’s called being human. But I have found that in the simple act of living with hope, and in the daily effort to have a positive impact in the world, the days I do have are made all the more meaningful and precious. And for that I am grateful.”

Elizabeth was diagnosed with breast cancer shortly after John Edwards’ unsuccessful bid for Vice President in 2004.  Shortly thereafter, she became very vocal about her struggle with the disease, becoming an advocate for cancer patients and survivors. She underwent aggressive treatment, and the cancer was though to have gone into remission, however in 2007, her doctors discovered that the cancer had returned.  This was shortly before John Edwards embarked on his 2008 Presidential campaign.  Despite the severity of her cancer, Elizabeth maintained her support of Edwards’ Presidential bid.

After the former Senator from North Carolina was unsuccessful in seeking the highest office, scandal broke about John Edwards having an affair with a campaign worker with whom he also father a child.  Elizabeth received praise and criticism for how she handled the fallout; but despite the mixed opinions, she emerged from the scandal more popular than her estranged husband, whose political career had practically ended after the news of his affair was made public.  Elizabeth and John separated in 2009 and she went on to discuss her experience in several high-profile interviews and in her book “Resilience” where she candidly recounts the infidelity and betrayal.

Elizabeth Edwards is survived by her husband, former Senator John Edwards, and their children Cate, Emma and Jack.  Their son, Wade preceded her in death when he was killed in a car accident in 1996.

Elizabeth Edwards: mother, wife, lawyer and advocate.  Gone too soon.  May she rest in peace.
