LCO Takes a Look Behind the Scenes of ‘Family Guy’ and ‘The Cleveland Show’

Posted by Levine Communications Office on November 2, 2010

At LCO, our publicists make sure to get involved with the work of their clients, which means some behind-the-scenes action! One of LCO’s best publicists, Joni Rubin, was able to take a look at the artwork of Family Guy director artist, Joseph Lee. Joni is the publicist for The Cleveland Show’s Kevin Michael Richardson.

Rubin was being given a tour of the Family Guy and Cleveland Show‘s incredible production facilities and was able to view Lee’s art in Cleveland Show director, Mike Henry’s office. Joni instantly became a huge fan of the artwork, and can’t wait to own her own Joseph Lee piece.

Check out this Joseph Lee illustration from the Cleveland Show-one of Rubin’s favorites!

Catching Up With Kevin Michael Richardson

Posted by Levine Communications Office on August 3, 2010

The world of voice acting is one that many are not so familiar with. Animated figures come to life because the voices that are used create the persona displayed by each character. Have you ever thought about whose voice you are actually hearing? Is a man playing a woman’s voice, or vice versa? Is an adult playing a child’s voice? Is one person playing more than one character? The audience may never know due to the immense talent and diversity that some voice actors own.

As you may or may not know, Kevin Michael Richardson is one such voice genius and quite a busy one these days as a matter of fact. LCO Client, Kevin Michael Richardson, was recently featured in “The Newfoundland Herald”, to give us his story and the role he has played in the voice acting world. Allow us to just sum up what may be a little difficult to read with the clippings we have provided. As an Emmy award nominee, Kevin Michael Richardson has “lent his voice to TV shows, movies, and even video games”. He is providing the voice of Cleveland Brown Jr. and Lester among others on the hit animates series, The Cleveland Show. KMR expresses that he wanted to be a performer since he was about five years old. Well, he certainly achieved this goal after years of schooling, theater involvement, and studying. Some of his many credits include Family Guy, American Dad, Lilo & Stitch, The Matrix: Revolutions, and Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.

Here are some inspirational highlights from the article in “The Newfoundland Herald”:

“But as far as voices, I always played around with that in front of friends. I just incorporated that into the characters I did on stage when I found out you could make a living doing voices, I thought, ‘You have to be kidding.’ So it just snowballed from there.”

“Just the fact that you’re doing what you love is great and when you’re making kids happy, that’s what makes it worth it. My oldest is 20 and my youngest is 15 and they still give me a wink or a hug when they like something I’ve done so as long as I’m cool with them, I’m ok with that.”

It is obvious that KMR loves what he does and works hard at achieving what is most important to him. His relaxed nature and genuine self is very refreshing to this industry at hand. For more info on Kevin Michael Richardson please visit www.kevinmichaelrichardson.com
